Giving Policy

Giving to the Body of Christ is the Biblical model and an important part of our spiritual lives. The following guidelines are provided by FIBC to assist in giving and planning.

Support your local church first

Wherever you may live, we strongly encourage you to support your local church first. If you live near FIBC, we invite you to join us on Sundays and support us as your home church.

"Upon the first day]of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come." -- 1 Corinthians 16:2

Give as you feel led

All gifts and donations are offered and accepted on a free-will basis. No guest, visitor, or member ever need feel pressured to give. The price of our Salvation was paid at the Cross by Jesus Christ and cannot be purchased by men through works or donations.

"Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver." -- 2 Corinthians 9:7

All are welcome and served

Our fellowship, pastoral care, and benevolence is offered to anyone without regard to their ability to give to the church.

Tithing

Tithing is a Biblical tradition and a tangible sign of putting the Lord's share first in all things. Members and those considering membership are encouraged to tithe 10% of their income.

"Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase."

Proverbs 3:9

Gift offerings

Gift offerings, above a regular tithe to your local church, are encouraged as you feel led. Gifts to FIBC may also be designated for special purposes, e.g. missions, building repair, etc.

Missions

We are a missionary church and supporting the work of missions and missionaries is a high priority. Unless one or more missions are specifically designated at the time of donating, mission funds will be evenly divided amongst the missionaries we support (currently over 30.)

Guests and visitors

Guests and visitors may give to FIBC as they feel led.

Online giving

Online giving is offered as a convenience and to reflect changes in the form of money and payment systems. Online giving is not viewed as a substitute for regular church attendance. Please always make your best effort to attend and support your local Bible believing church.

Legal

Donations are free-will gifts to the church and are not payments for goods or services rendered. We are a charitable tax-exempt organization under U.S. tax code, so consult your tax advisor concerning tax-deductibility.

If you denote a special purpose for all or part of a donation, Federal law permits us to reallocate the donation for other purposes, but it is our church policy to contact donors for permission to reallocate the donation or make arrangements for a refund.

See our Terms of Service and Privacy Policies for additional information.
